What is CBD? And What Can it Do For You?

Blog Post

So you’re looking for information about CBD? You’ve seen it in the news, you’ve talked about it with friends, you’ve seen the market add cannabis stocks to the NYSE, and you’ve even seen some of the stocks do well. Well it’s your lucky day, we’re here to fill you in on what we have heard about CBD. Before we get into it though, please take some time to look at Redy Beverage’s website, we have CBD seltzers that not only taste good, but will have you feeling renewed. To get started, we’ve organized this blog into four different topics.

  1. What is CBD? How am I using it?
  2. Does CBD get you high?
  3. The benefits of CBD
  4. How to take CBD

  • What is CBD? How am I using it?

  • CBD, short for cannabidiol, is 1 of 113 cannabinoids in cannabis plants. It's been stated by clinical researchers that it is non-psychoactive (meaning it does not give you a mental high), dissimilar to its THC counterpart. It has been stated that CBD can be used for a variety of conditions, although it’s up to your doctor to let you know whether it’s appropriate for you and your condition.

As someone who has ingested cannabis time-and-time again, I can tell you I’ve personally found that CBD has been the fine medium for what I’ve wanted without slowing me down or leaving me groggy the next morning like its counterpart. When ingesting cannabis, although I was relaxed, I was also slow, groggy, forgetful, and sometimes anxious from ingesting too much. A lot of us know that feeling of eating an edible that was way too strong and it put us in a dismal state of agony. CBD doesn’t do that for us. CBD has been the perfect medium for me, something that has helped me relax without getting me incapacitated.

We at Redy have ingested CBD in the form of beverages as a way to feel renewed the following day. We’ve used it after athletics, gym, after work, to get some sleep without feeling groggy the next day, and even just a way to feel at ease after a long day. It has been a great substitute to us for alcohol, especially on the weekdays when we have to be ready for work the next day.

  • Does CBD get you high? What has CBD done for me?

  • No, CBD does not get you high. CBD is a non-psychoactive ingredient, meaning it doesn’t affect your mind.

I’ve ingested CBD in a variety of forms. I’ve drank it, inhaled it, taken it as an oil, or even applied it as a cream. Depending on who you ask, CBD can either feel like a sort of “body high” or it can feel like nothing. My girlfriend has ingested our CBD drink and has told me that she didn’t feel anything. I, on the other hand, have taken CBD and felt a body high that has helped me relax.

It’s hard to objectively say whether you’ll feel anything with CBD, only because I know people who haven’t felt anything, but I know people who have. Truth is, it’s up to you, the consumer (and your medical professional), to find out whether CBD is right for you. Redy can give you a delightful taste and refresher if you’re looking to try CBD out for the first time, if you want to try it in beverage form, or even if you’ve tried it before, you can try it again. Why not?

  •  The benefits of CBD

  • We don’t have the medical research to personally confirm or deny that information, but we can tell you we’ve drunk CBD as a pick-me-up after a long day.

For us, Redy has been a refreshing drink that has helped us sleep and generally feel better after consuming it. It has played as the perfect alcohol substitution. As much as I love consuming a glass of whiskey, it comes with high calories, dehydration, it’s harmful to the body, and it’s even harmful to the mind if taken too often. As much as I love my alcohol benders, I’m also getting to the point where I find a healthy alternative.

  • How to take CBD

  • The obvious answer to this question is you drink it in the form of Redy (yes, I do have to keep plugging the product. This is a business after all). The real answer to this question is you can take it in a variety of forms. You can ingest it in the form of an oil, which can be used in your salad dressing, with your oils, or you can simply ingest the oil. You can take it in the form of candy. Your local dispensary should carry it in the form of gummies, candies, or chocolates. My personal favorite comes from the brand Kanhanano (passionfruit), but it also has THC in it. If they make a CBD alternative, I would get those in a heartbeat.

So hopefully we answered your question in the form of this blog. Admittedly, without hiring scientists to do the research on our behalf, we can’t give you the scientific information about it, but we can tell you that there is information on the internet for you to research. I do hope, however, that the personal experience I’ve explained to you about CBD has been enough for you to at least give it a try.

Note: Although CBD is considered safe, it can cause adverse reactions like diarrhea and fatigue in some people. It may also interfere with certain medications. Seek medical advice for a doctor to see if CBD is right for you.
